Nineteen Percent of US Population Considered Disabled

According to numbers released this week by the US Census Bureau, more than 54 million Americans have some form of disability.

This is an increase from the last calculation of the number of disabled Americans from 18% to 19%.

About 46% of those with disabilities are employed whereas 84% of adults without disabilities are employed. People with a severe disability earned an average of $1,000 less each month than those without a disability.
