Migraines & Frustration: April Headache & Migraine Disease Blog Carnival

Welcome to the April 2011 Headache and Migraine Disease Blog Carnival

The Headache & Migraine Disease Blog Carnival has been created to provide both headache patients and people who blog about headaches with opportunities to share ideas on topics of particular interest and importance to us.

The theme of the April carnival is “What frustrates you most about living with a headache disorder or migraines?”

Everyone deals with little annoyances on a day to day basis. It’s just a part of life. But I think to live with a misunderstood disease like a migraine adds additional frustrations on top of the run of the mill annoyances. But to be perfectly honest one of my biggest frustrations is simply that I have tried so hard to be the perfect patient and try anything and everything and it still doesn’t make a darned bit of difference. I’m used to being able to make what I want to happen through hard work and intelligence, but living with a chronic disease doesn’t work that way. I’m slowly learning to let go, but it’s a work in progress.

What frustrates you the most about living with migraines? Here’s what some bloggers shared for this month’s carnival:

Jamie Valendy shared Frustration: Loss of Independence & Lack of Compassion posted at Chronic Migraine Warrior.

Sue shared April at Inner Dorothy.

Nancy Harris Bonk shared Headache & Migraine Blog Carnival at Migraine and Other Headache Disorders.

Emily shared The Headache That Never Stops posted at No Extended Warranty.

Katharine Hope shared The Ultimate Frustration at Healing My Migraines.

Kathy shared Cognitive Crash at TMJD and Me.

Darlene Blair shared The Loss of Little Things at My Life with Migraines.

Betsy Blondin shared Was It the Food? at Migraine Journey.

Thank you for all the wonderful posts!

Submit your blog post to the May 2011 edition of the Headache & Migraine Disease Blog Carnival using our carnival submission form or by sending your submissions to me by email. (Unfortunately, some of us have had problems with the submission form on the site from time to time. If you do please just send your post to me by email. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience.) The theme will be “Unstuck: How do you get yourself out of a self-care rut?” (If you’re feeling fuzzy about what the heck self-care is, check out this article from Psychology Today: Self-Care in a Toxic World.) Submissions are due by midnight (the end of the day) on Friday, May 6. The May carnival will be published here at Somebody Heal Me on Monday, May 9.
